Downtown Cle Elum offers convenient public parking within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. Side streets and overflow parking is offered on Railroad Street for visitors while they are exploring our downtown. Visitors may walk down any street for easy access to local businesses.

Oversized Vehicles
Railroad Street offers convenient parking for visitors with large vehicles. Please note, the City of Cle Elum does not permit vehicles with an overall length of twenty-six feet or more to park on First Street, between Stafford Avenue and Peoh Avenue.
Winter Parking
Please be aware that during the winter season, parking may be more limited due to snow affecting our streets. Our Public Works Department and the Washington State Department of Transportation work diligently to clear the streets and avenues as swiftly as possible.
Factors of Snow challenges Downtown:
Snow accumulation: Heavy snowfall can lead to reduced parking space availability as snow may block parking spots and narrow roadways, limiting the number of places where vehicles can park.
Street maintenance: While the Public Works Department and Washington State Department of Transportation work to clear snow, the process can take time, and during particularly heavy snowfalls, some areas may remain difficult to access or navigate.
Narrow streets: Some areas of downtown Cle Elum have narrow streets, which can become more challenging to drive through or park on once snow accumulates. The streets may also be further congested by parked vehicles, making it harder to find available spots.
Limited off-street parking: There may be limited parking lots or spaces in the downtown area, further contributing to difficulties when trying to park during the winter months.
Street closures or restrictions: Snow removal and plowing operations may lead to temporary street closures or parking restrictions, making it more challenging to find a place to park.
Non-Delivery or personal vehicles are not permitted to park in an alley of the city.
Business Parking: For added convenience for shoppers and diners, we encourage downtown businesses to park personal vehicles in private spots, on side streets, or on Railroad Street (except on South Cle Elum Way and Peoh Avenue).
