The Runner Stumbles
July 6 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am
$30.00
Starting at Nelson Farm, This 5K/10K race runs over wooded trails. Great for new runners or those looking to PR. There will be trophies and ribbons and a kid’s dash. Proceeds benefit local youth.
“The Runner Stumbles” takes its name from the last movie made by Stanley Kramer (High Noon, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner). It was filmed in Roslyn, in the late 70s and is set in a rural Roman Catholic parish. A nun with tennis shoes has been the race’s mascot for more than a decade. This race was brought back by a group of upper county runners after a five year absence. This will be the 41st running of the event.
The race will award trophies for the winners and age group ribbons three places deep. Your odds of coming home with something to remember the race by are pretty good. Fingers crossed. There will be a kid’s dash too. Fun for families, charming for just all of us.
The Runner Stumbles is sort of a throwback. It’s completely volunteer organized and run with all of the proceeds going towards new uniforms for the Cle Elum Roslyn High School cross country team.
Hope to see you there.
